Weddings Come With all Sorts of Questions!
There’s just so much to think about when planning your perfect wedding.
So, to help you get all the information you need, here are some handy questions and answers.
Hope these help!
A: For all of my weddings I take a 20% deposit once all paperwork has been signed. This is to ensure I secure your day in my diary. This deposit is non-refundable but is deducted from the total cost of your package. 30 days before the big day I will get back in touch and ask for the remaining of your balance.
A: Group shots can be tricky and stressful. This is why I recommend no more than 15 group shots (not including a whole wedding party shot). The more group photos there are, the harder they are to arrange… especially as I won’t know your guests. Having fewer group shots takes the pressure off yourself and your guests and allows you to enjoy your time with your family and friends. A few weeks before your wedding I will send over a group checklist.
A: I love to travel across the UK! Currently, for my half-day packages, I can travel up to 50 miles from my location. For my full day package, I can travel further, but if it is more than 70 miles then I will need to add an additional cost for overnight accommodation. This can be something you arrange, or I can do myself. I love travelling for my job, so I’ll do everything I can to keep it within your budget, so please don’t be discouraged! If it’s meant to be, we’ll make it work!
A: I understand that weddings can be quite tight when it comes to timings, so I like to take at least 20 minutes of your day just for couple photographs. We can simply wander the grounds, go for a walk, or do whatever you like! This is your time, so I’ll follow you!
A: Absolutely!!! I get it! Some random stranger coming up to you with a big camera isn’t exactly the happy surprise you’d like on your wedding day! Trust me, this won’t happen! This is why I take the time to get to know you both before the big day. Whether that’s chatting over a brew, having a natter over Zoom, or simply giving me a bell on the phone. If you’re still dealing nervous, another great way to ease the nerves is with an engagement shoot. This way you’ll get used to my relaxed and natural style, plus you’ll feel more comfortable in front of the camera on the big day. If you’re interested in an engagement shoot, get in touch and let’s get you booked in!
A: As some wedding venues are out of reach of normal conveniences, to save time and ensure I don’t miss any important or spontaneous moments I appreciate having a meal included. But if this is an issue, don’t worry, I’m happy to bring along some snacks and a packed lunch to keep me going. I always check with my couples in the pre-wedding meeting.
A: I’m a little bit of shutterbug, so I can over 2000 photos on just one wedding. So to ensure I completely edit your images to a high quality I aim to have the private online gallery live to view within two months after the ceremony. Usually, I’ll have your wedding photos ready earlier, but just in case anything goes wrong (touch wood) I can get everything sorted out at this time.
A: Absolutely! I like to get a small collection of up to 50 photos over to my couples within 2 weeks of your special day. That way you’ll get to share them on social media with all your friends and family. I upload these onto a special online gallery where you can download the photos, or simply pass the link to your loved ones. If you want a photo of two quickly, please let me know and I’ll do everything possible to get them to you ASAP!
A: As a rule, I provide a minimum number of photos and not a max! This way I don’t need to limit what you receive. I want you to get the best photos, so instead of choosing my favourites, you get to choose! With my half-day packages I provide a minimum of 300 high-resolution images, and a minimum of 450 for my full day packages… but you’re definitely going to get more!!!
A: I’m afraid this is not something I offer. On most weddings days I take over 2000 shots! Obviously, not every single one of these is going to be perfect, plus there will be duplicates of certain shots which you don’t need. After your wedding, I spend a great deal of time editing down the photos to create a storytelling collection of images. Not only do I cut down the selection, I painstakingly edit each and every one of the photos you receive. Each photo is edited in a particular way which I have spent years to perfect. I put love, sweat and tears into crafting the perfect collection of photos to reflect your special day, and the idea of providing my couple with something half-finished sends chills down my spine!
A: Yes, of course! Once you receive your link to your private wedding gallery you are able to print, download and share with your family and friends. You have full printing rights! Please know that I will use the photos on my website and on my social media. If this is a problem, just let me know.
A: Why of course! I offer a wedding album in my “Say ‘Yes'”. With this package, you’ll receive a 28x28cm album with up to 100 pages. But even if you don’t choose this package, you can simply add this on, or even place an order for one after the wedding. I’m proud to offer large, hardback, flat-lay wedding albums in a choice of colours and textures. Simply pick your favourite images from your day and I will expertly arrange them in a professional yet simple way. If you’d like to know more, just give me a bell!
A: I love love love engagement shoots! It’s a great way for me to get to know you before the big day, plus you get to experience my relaxed and natural style of photography. I want to feel more like an extension of your guest list, and less like a worker. Also, the shots are great for invitations!
A: I like to start mid-way through the morning prep, so when the bride is having her makeup done or when the groom is getting suited and booted. The time is up to you and depends on the run of the day. From here, I’ll be there all the way to the First Dance. I also like to stick around for a little longer so I can get some fun shots of your family and friends tearing up the dance floor! On average my day is 11am to 9pm.
