WHY YOU SHOULDN’T RULE OUT GROOM PREP PHOTOS

When it comes to wedding photography, bridal prep is often seen as a must-have, but what about the groom?
Too often, couples overlook capturing the groom’s morning, assuming it’s less eventful or not as visually engaging. However, groom prep photos add so much to the final wedding gallery, bringing balance, storytelling, and personality to your day. If you’re on the fence, here are five reasons why you should consider including groom prep in your wedding photography package (with the help of a second shooter!).

It Tells the Whole Story

Your wedding day isn’t just about one of you. It’s about both of you!
While bridal prep often includes those beautiful, emotional moments with family and friends, the groom’s morning is just as meaningful.
Whether it’s shared laughter with groomsmen, a quiet moment adjusting cufflinks, or a heartfelt letter exchange, these moments help tell the full story of your day from both perspectives.

Candid Moments with the Groomsmen

Groom prep is usually a more relaxed affair, with plenty of banter, toasts, and funny moments between friends. These interactions create brilliant candid shots that capture the spirit of the day before the formalities begin. It’s these genuine, natural moments that you’ll look back on and smile.

Capturing the Nerves and Excitement

Just like the bride, the groom also experiences a mix of emotions before the ceremony. Having a photographer there to capture those quiet moments of reflection, deep breaths before heading to the venue, or words of encouragement from a best man adds depth and authenticity to your wedding album.

The Details Matter Too

From buttoning up the suit to fastening the tie, there are so many small but significant moments during groom prep. These details, like; cufflinks, watches, special socks, or personalised accessories, often carry sentimental value and deserve to be documented just as much as the bridal details.

A Second Shooter Ensures Nothing is Missed

Because the bride and groom usually get ready in separate locations, a second shooter is essential to ensure both stories are captured. While I’m with the bride (Or the groom. Completely your choice!), my second shooter will be with the groom, seamlessly documenting everything.
You can add a second shooter to any package as an optional extra for £300. This means when you look back at your wedding photos, you’ll both get to experience each other’s mornings, seeing moments you wouldn’t have otherwise witnessed.

You’ll Never Regret getting Groom Prep Photos

Groom prep photos add balance, emotion, and storytelling to your wedding gallery. They ensure that both of your experiences are captured, providing a fuller, richer memory of your special day. If you’re considering whether to include them, I’d absolutely recommend it!
Trust me, you won’t regret having these moments to look back on!

Laura & Lee’s Inglewood Manor Wedding: A Scorcher of a Celebration

Laura and Lee’s wedding at the stunning Inglewood Manor was nothing short of spectacular. Taking place on the hottest day of 2024, their big day was filled with joy, love, and plenty of thoughtful touches that kept the celebrations cool, vibrant, and full of fun.

The gorgeous grounds of Inglewood Manor provided the perfect backdrop for their summer wedding. From the moment Laura and Lee walked down the aisle, their day radiated warmth (not just from the sun), from the love shared among their family and friends.

As if the sunny weather wasn’t enough, their confetti tunnel took centre stage. It wasn’t just any confetti, it was Flutter Darlings! The explosion of colour and fun was a photographer’s dream, creating moments so lively and picture-perfect that I now recommend Flutter Darlings to all my couples.
Guests were treated to the best entertainment throughout the day, including an amazing magician who wowed everyone with his tricks. To help cool things down, ice cream was on hand—a delightful touch that added to the carefree, summery vibe of the day.

Every detail of Laura and Lee’s wedding was a celebration of their personalities, from their laid-back approach to their heartfelt moments together as a couple. It was a joy to capture their love story in such a magical setting, and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day—or couple!

If you’re planning a wedding at Inglewood Manor or looking for inspiration for a sunny, joy-filled celebration, I’d love to chat. Laura and Lee’s wedding was proof that the right venue, thoughtful details, and love at the centre of it all make for truly unforgettable memories… Isabelle xx
